Back in her Edinburgh studio, she printed the image. It hung on the wall beside dozens of others: a fox in snowfall, a seal’s eye reflecting the moon, a hare frozen mid-leap. Yet something was missing. The photographs were true, but they weren’t true enough . They lacked the wind, the scent of wet earth, the vibration of the eagle’s wingbeat.
