From an architectural and design perspective, Curviloft shifted the "SketchUp aesthetic." Before plugins like this, SketchUp projects were easily identifiable by their orthogonal, rectilinear nature. Curviloft liberated designers to explore "blobitecture" and organic forms without leaving the SketchUp interface.
