"Kaatteri" follows the story of a rogue filmmaker (played by Vaibhav) who specializes in making adult films. After getting into trouble with a local politician, he and his team are forced to flee. Their escape leads them to a mysterious, remote village situated deep within a forest. They take refuge in a sprawling, abandoned bungalow that the locals claim is haunted. The core plot revolves around a mysterious box that the gang tries to steal from the ghosts, the history of the ghost family residing there, and the comedic chaos that ensues.
