Card Write Error Top ((install)) — Kaeser Sd

The Kaeser SD card is the weak link in an otherwise iron chain. Treat it with suspicion, and keep a spare in your back pocket.

The error explicitly referencing "Top" often hints at the top edge of the SD card. Remove the card from the controller (always power down first!). Look at the left side of the card. If the small plastic slider is in the "Lock" position (toward the top/tip of the card), slide it down toward the bottom of the card to unlock it. kaeser sd card write error top

SD cards use a file system (usually FAT32). If the compressor loses power unexpectedly (brownout or hard shutdown) while writing a log file, the file allocation table becomes corrupted. The Sigma Control can read the card (no boot error) but cannot write to it (the write error appears). The Kaeser SD card is the weak link

Remove the SD card from slot X5 and ensure the sliding lock tab is pushed up toward the metal contacts.

The “Top” error indicates that the controller cannot write data logs (pressure curves, temperature history, motor starts) to the top SD card. The controller is essentially trying to keep a diary, but the pen is out of ink.

Press the key to clear the message and reset the alarm memory, provided the underlying issue has been resolved.
