Xiaomi uses a server-side lock. When you bind your account in "Mi Unlock Status," the device ID is registered on their servers, which then starts a countdown timer. No amount of local file editing or tool-switching can bypass this timer because the Mi Unlock Tool must fetch an authorized token from Xiaomi's server at the end of the wait period. 2. Go to Additional Settings > Developer Options and toggle OEM Unlocking and USB Debugging .
“If we flash a patched abl (Android Bootloader) via EDL… the bootloader won’t ask Xiaomi’s server for permission anymore,” Mia explained.
